48HFP Email Has Arrived

The DC 48HFP committee sent out the official email today. The contest weekend is April 30-May 2. Registration begins Monday, March 8th. I've already marked my calendar with a reminder so we don't forget to register.

48hfp DC 2009: From Behind the Cornhole

Click the black title card image below to watch "From Behind the Cornhole", our 2009 film entry for the Washington, D.C. 48HFP. The 48HFP judges picked our film for the "Best of DC" round of screenings. "From Behind the Cornhole" showed in the earlier of two "Best of DC" screenings, which put our team approximately 18th out of over 100 films.

Genre: SCU pulled the genre BUDDY FILM for the 2009 48HFP. The 2009 Required Elements (which every team must include in their film) were:

Character: Ivan or Eve Pagoda, a coach

Prop: an ID card

Line of Dialog: "We're hoping things will change."

48hfp DC 2010: High As A Kite

"High as a Kite" landed our team in the "Best of DC" round for a second year in a row, somewhere around 22nd place overall. (They don't officially rank the finalists, but they generally show the films in the "Best of DC" round in two showings, roughly by order of judge rankings).

Genre: SCU pulled the genre COMEDY for the 2010 48HFP.

The 2010 Required Elements (which every team must include in their film) were:

Character: Marco or Muffin Gabbowitz, a person who works with animals

Prop: A horn

Line of Dialog: "Do you think you can do that again?"
